And I apologize for that, but before now I didn't really have anything worthwhile to say. But beforehand, a little update on what's been going on. In real life (y'know, that thing that keeps getting in the way of creating
So I've kept myself occupied.
On the creative side I think I've gone without uploading something as I have with the journal. The problem is, is I forgot to install Photoshop on my laptop before I left Florida, so coloring lineart's is out. And my prose writing has given way to a new passion: Comic Book Scripting. I've always struggled with sentence structure and the flow of words on the page (or screen), but when it comes to comics, it just clicks. Using words and images in conjunction to tell a story comes more naturally than words alone. The reason I haven't posted any scripts is because between the month or two I give a first draft to cool off, I've started on another (sometimes a couple other) scripts, and sometimes what I was working on is put on the back burner. Usually they'll get another draft, maybe two, but rarely go past that. And I don't want to put out something I feel isn't ready (it's a kind of self-defeating cycle--I know) as I have with most of what I've uploaded here to DA. I'm trying to break that cycle, though. I'm working on a couple short 10-ish page stories in their third draft.
Which brings me to the reason I dusted this old thing off in the first place...
I'm looking a collaborator(s). I've done only one collaboration on a project in my life and it was over four years ago. And, honestly, I've missed the interaction. Writing can become very lonely, especially when your like me and don't want to show nobody nothin' until it's ready and never really finishing a project (Again--very self-defeating cycle). I've been putting this out on a couple of other sites, and I've had a couple responses, but nothing that's played out yet. I'm serious about doing a comic project. I'm hungry to craft a story and characters I can give a damn about, and having fun and making friends while doing it.
This could be an artist, another writer, or another creative person to bounce ideas back and forth with. If you'd want to do a story in a licensed universe, I've got ides ranging from Star Wars (obviously), Assassin's Creed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Left 4 Dead, and a couple others. I've got ideas for an original super-hero comic, a sci-fi story about a race of creatures named the Grazan who claim to have been on Earth long before the dinosaurs and claim created the human species--they are also exceedingly difficult to kill.
Or I could start on something completely from scratch. I'm open to ideas.
If you're interested, you can post in the comments or send me a note. I'll reply to anyone whose willing, even if it takes me a couple days to get a chance to log on.
Alright, I think that's enough for now. Time for sleep.
